1. Do I have to be fit to start?
Absolutely not. It can actually be better if you don’t know too much about fitness, so that we can show you proper technique the first time. Our workouts can be modified to any fitness level, and our coaches are trained to help everyone have a safe and challenging experience.
2. Am I too old?
Our athletes span a broad age range—we have kids and 60-year-olds at our gym. Approximately 70% of our athletes are in their 40s and 50s, and we program specifically for our demographics. This means more warm-ups and stretching than you’ll find at many other CrossFit gyms. We’re very proud that many of our athletes in their mid 60s are more fit than most 30-year-olds!
3. What if I can’t do a pull-up?
Don’t worry one bit. Most people can’t when they start, and that’s totally fine. One of the great things you’ll learn in Foundations [hyperlink to page] is to modify (scale) movements. So for example, If you can’t do a pull-up, there are many other movements you can do to strengthen your body so that you will eventually be able to achieve a pull up. All of the movements are like this. You just have to figure out where to start. Helping you do this is our specialty and something we’re known for!
4. What if I have an injury?
No problem. Many people have past or current injuries. We specialize in modifying, or scaling, movements so that you can safely perform them and avoid putting strain on any injuries you have. Often we can give you specific stretches or exercises to help with your issue.
