I have read several critical opinions of CrossFit recently and I want to assure our members that CrossFit Wilmette is helping each and every one of you achieve your ideal level of fitness. One of those criticisms is that CrossFit is only aimed at the elite. We are making a commitment to programming that can both challenge the best and be manageable for beginners. Many of you may have seen how John, Steve, and I modify WODs to be inclusive of people of a variety of fitness levels as well as modify for injury. In an effort to continue this process, I will add some modification ideas to WODs this week.

WAYYY too beat up today. I am begrudgingly taking a rest day. See you all tomorrow.
I hope you don’t mind me posting this, but I have been a member now for over 6 months, and doing some form of Crossfit for 2 years, and I have to say that CFW trainers have helped me come a long way. They really do help people at all levels, from new to advanced. They help scale the workout according to experience and ability, and they take their time to make sure everyone fully understands the lifts to be performed before they begin the daily “WOD”.
In addition, everyone, including the members is always willing to help others out at all times. There really is a family/team atmosphere consisting of people of all skills levels where we aren’t competing against each other, but against ourselves pushing each other to be the fittest we can be.
I’m not an employee nor an investor in Crossfit Wilmette, but I am a member (and far from elite) and I thought prospective members should be aware that we who spend our hard earned money are very happy with the level of service and care we recieve at our box regardless of our fitness experience.
Totally agree Shaff! WOD today killed my grip, almost slipped off the bar a couple times… 203 reps, press 105-105-105-115-115-120(x2)
